Our Founder

Rev. Dr. Mensa Otabil is a Ghanaian theologian, motivational speaker, and entrepreneur widely regarded as one of Africa's most influential Christian leaders. He is the Founder and General Overseer of the International Central Gospel Church (ICGC), headquartered in Accra, Ghana — a church with a global presence spanning multiple continents.

Driven by a vision to transform Africa through education and faith, Dr. Otabil founded Central University in Ghana, where he serves as Chancellor. Central University has grown into one of Ghana's leading private universities, offering programmes across business, law, theology, and the sciences.

Daniel Institute — a Christian Seminary and Global Leadership Institute — was established under the auspices of ICGC as an institute within Central University. It reflects Dr. Otabil's deep conviction that the Church needs well-trained, academically grounded, and spiritually formed leaders to fulfil its mandate in Africa and the world.

Beyond the church and academia, Dr. Otabil is the CEO of Otabil & Associates, an executive and leadership growth consultancy that serves organisations across Africa. His books, sermons, and leadership teachings have impacted millions across the continent and beyond.

His life and ministry embody the founding vision of Daniel Institute: to equip individuals with a calling to serve in various capacities and levels of Christian ministry and leadership — combining academic rigour with spiritual depth.
